suppose you were a nutriionist.what advice would you give to your patients who suffer from gout?explain why it would be effective
Rahima
My advice is that the patient should consume food substances that contain iodine.

To start, I would tell them they need to stop eating the foods that are adding to this problem. The foods high in purines; meat, animal organs, some seafoods, etc....
They should also reduce their intake of animal fats and dairy in their diet.
Increasing complex carbohydrates such as whole grains, brown rice, whole oats and increasing their daily intake of fresh vegetables (raw or steamed), can help reduce the uric acid levels in their body.
Reduce the level of alcohol and sugary drinks, as these can increase the uric acid.
Drink water often throughout the day, so they are always flushing excess uric acid out of the body.
Stay active, and take a multivitamin daily.
