my mother takes anti inflammatory medicine but shes still in a lot if pain. she cant take motrin cause she has an ulcer.
but thanks Intake and your right docs are crap now.
she has done blood test and the joints crystal test but it still seems like thats not what it is, they have been done and different docs are throwing different things around...i just want to know if hypothetically if it wasn't arthritis what else could it be, if that were taken out of the equation. thanks guys for all your help, all the best.

try taking anti inflamitory medication for swollen joints.. if that doesnt help.. then its probably chronic pain syndrome from a accident that ur mother had along time ago.. and finally her body is telling her.. get some help or its gonna get worse..
mobic - motrin is a anti inflamitory medication that i know of.. its over the counter and legit.. try that..
arthritis is a disease and doesnt matter how old or young u are, if u have it u have it.. if the doctors ur mom is going to isnt helping her, find someone else that is ACTUALLY whiling to take the time and care to treat your mother.. doctors these days dont care, and will just give u a prescription of anything u want for u to get out of there face and take ur money..
Find a different doctor and ask his opinion, ! ur mother should live in pain.. nobody should!

Their are over 100 different forms of Arthritis. I was 21 when I fist had a problem with my finger. Just woke up one morning and it was red hot, swollen and inflamed. The Doctor told me I had knocked it? Six months later the thumb became red hot and swollen again diagnosed as a knock? Next I woke up one morning unable to get my neck off the pillow, the pain was horrid, but the Doctor told me I must have pulled a muscle. I always had a nagging pain in my back, but put that down to the chair I was using at the office. I was also exhausted, spent the weekend in bed, but was working a 40 hour week. It was not until I spent the day at a Conference, came home threw my high heels off and went ouch? I had two big toes on my right foot. I went to ER, they dismissed me. I went to my GP and four days later was told I had Arthritis. I was 29! Arthritis is not a gradual thing, it has flares, where joints will rebel and become painful, usually followed by remissions, when nothing is happening, no joint problems but the pain and exhaustion are bad. Hope that helps. Best of Luck

Arthritis is diagnosed through blood tests. Your mother must have had these to get an arthritis diagnosis. If you are still unsure then why don't you accompany her to her next Dr's appointment and ask "how did you come to the diagnosis of arthritis for my mom?" Both Lupus and arthritis can be detected through blood work. Listen to the answer and if her dr can give you the clear diagnosis then you need to accept it and move to your next question which should be-"how can she better control her symptoms?" you may want to find a specialist who will be more current on the latest combinations of meds and lifestyle changes that will best support her. Remember, too that arthritis can unfortunately occur at any age.

My mom has fibro and her joints swell. I have CRPS, may want to look into that.

thats true-ther is no swelling/inflammtion with fibromyalgia..
If your joints are swollen and your only diagnosis is fibromyalgia--you are MISDIAGNOSED.
