extremely incapacitating pain and stiffness. help please!!!?my fiance is 45 and male. he has a heart condition and diabetes. he was in the hospital for 2 weeks in congestive heart failure and renal failure. so the switched his meds around and added some and took some away. in the last month or so he has had 3 bouts of gout in his left wrist. they gave him prednisone the first time and it was a miracle med for him. but it also screwed up his blood sugar hes 200 one day and 500 the next. anyways, they put him on colchecine and he is maxing out ibuprofen and tylenol arthritis. he is in so much pain that he cant even dangle his arm when he gets up. he has to keep it way elevated. so my question is, does anyone have anything else i could do for him? any home remedies, heck anything at all i was hoping you all could help. btw he is on allopurinal which is a medication which is supposed to stop gout before you even get symptoms. well that isn't working. we are icing and heating and have him in and out of his immobilizer to try to flex so the joint doesn't freeze up. im beside myself with worry, i cant imagine how he feels about it all. anyone...please. oh yeah and if you don't have a legitimate answer to this question, please don't bother. thanks

Gout is caused by a over production of uric acid. Therefore he needs to be kept on the special Gout diet. Best of Luck
