where are you located? Most states have state-funded programs to assist the elderly and disabled, including those that can help with transportation. (Dallas has the Area Agency for Aging and other funded programs...)

Im sorry for your troubles and I hope you get your help soon. First you might be able to get ssi and disability for both of you, go to www.socialsecurity.govapplyforbenefits. Also call your local hospital or your doctors office to see if they have access to the phone #'s or websites that you can visit to get your information. I pray for your family and hope things look up for you both.

I'm not sure my dear, I'm Canadian so i'm not familiar with the way the health care systems works in the US. But if the grandmother is his legal guardian she could get him signed up Medicaid if money is an issue. Also through his school he should be able to get some kind of relief and aid (physical needs) via his Individualized Educational Plan (IEP). IEPs are for individuals who are "high needs" from ages 3-21 yrs. Good luck and God Bless all of you. The IEP thing is an American Deal, so that's kosher.
