Indocin is used for an acute flare up. If you have this all the time, then maintenance drugs such as colchicine or allopurinol may be prescribed. All are prescription drugs which you need to get from your doctor.

Non-prescription meds (NSAIDs) such as ibuprofen, naproxen can help.

If that's not enough:
1) prescription NSAIDs such as Indocin
2) Colchicine and/or allopurinal
