Pain in left foot on the bottom between big toe and toe beside it and big toe is stiff feels like its jammed.?

Pain in left foot on the bottom between big toe and toe beside it and big toe is stiff feels like its jammed.?I had shin splints back during summer softball season. Now that the splints have been gone for about two months I have this pain when a walk. Everytime I step and apply weight on my left foot it hurts around the front ball near the big toe. My big toe is stiff like its jammed. The pain feels like it is between the big toe and second toe. The pain only comes and goes but is there each day. This has been going on since the shin splints went away. I don't think it is gout because of the time length I've had this. Any ideas of what this could be?

you should see your doctor, it could be caused by many things, none good.

Phoenix
Sounds like classic Morton's Neuroma or sesamoiditis.

An x-ray may be necessary. In compensating for the shint splints, you probably stressed other muscles or tendons.

Unless you see some evidence of swelling, it could be what medics call: "Referred Pain'. That is a pain that occurs elsewhere but feel like it is in a different place.
Your pain could be originating in your lower spine.
It travels down the Sciatic Nerve and ends up in your foot. I have had that happen and it is weird, but a Chiropractor could tell you more about that.

They don't cost a fortune and it may be a good idea to have yourself checked out, to see if your spine is causing the problem.
