Anyways, I get ingrown toenails quite frequently in my two big toes on both sides of the toe.
My right big toe [thankfully] hasn't gotten one in almost a half a year.
My left one however is and always has been the worse of the two.
I had the ingrown toe nails removed but my toe is slightly inflamed, and a bright pomegranate/apple red color and on the left part of the toe only on a certain pin head sized point] I have pain that is excruciating to the touch similar to the pain caused by a gout attack but not as bad as it. They also puss from where the nail gos down around the side where the nail and skin make a crease.
I have started [this morning] taking Penicillin for the infection and Ibuprofen for the pain and the inflammation. And after I take my shoes off when I get home from work I rinse it with water, pat dry, and pour hydrogen peroxide over it to try to help with the sanitizing of it.
Is that a good treatment? Should I be using anything like aloe or neosporin or anything like that? Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

i know how you feel. if you can make an appointment to go to the doctors and get it removed do it! and ask them abut a chemical that makes your toenail not grow back, cant remember the name at this moment but it really works. iv had it done on all four sides of my big toes and haven't had an ingrown toenail since. if that's out the option got to wal-mart or k-mart etc, ect, and get dr. scholls ingrown toenail kit. it comes with odd looking band-aids and a funky smelling tube of ointment and some littler band-aids but it works, it breaks down your toenail and stops the infection and takes away pain so you can cut it out with out wanting to just chop your toe off. hope these ideas helped.
