It sure is. I know two diabetic people that have it. They actually found out about the gout before they found out that they were diabetic. You definately have to take good care of your feet!

most diabetics have reallhy dodgie feet, not necessarily gout but they have problems with their feet

No, it is not. Gout is an old disease that is essentially arthritis caused by a high level of uric acid.
It is quite possible that some diabetics have gout, but not a given.
Both can be treated by a healthy diet and proper medication (if needed)
