You have to be aware of taking colchicine. There are many side effects that occur from this medicine. Here are some:
Vomiting
diarrhea
rashes
breathing problems
seizures
bleeding
blood in stool and urine..
sound nice? No
I think you should get a uric acid test on your blood to see if it is actually gout of in fact pseudogout which resembles gout but has deposits of crystalline salts and not urates around the joints. This is treated differently.
Sometimes steroids or corticosteroid injections and other forms of anti-inflammatories can give relief.
Perhaps you need to have a good look at your diet and see if you have reduced the purines as best as possible. No prawns / shrimps, no anchovies, etc. Your doctor has to look for calcium deposits on an infected area with an xray and then take a fluid sample of the area.
There are also triggers that set off pseudogout such as a thyroid problem?
If you get a uric acid test on your blood and it is positive for high levels of uric acid then the only way to control gout is by diet which is unfortunate.
There are alternatives such as Baking Soda, celery seed oil, celery, Organic apple cider vinegar ,etc.
Get your tests done by the doctor, ask question son any side effects from the medicine they might prescribe, because all of the medicines have side effects and read as much as possible. It is up to you to cure yourself.

Talk to your doctor, he can up your dosage of Cholrcine.
Try rotating the types of meats you eat every day.
Dinner Example:
Monday - Chicken
Tuesday - Pork
Wednesday - Beef
Thursday - Chicken
Friday - Pork
Saturday - Beef
Never eat beef 2 days in a row. Avoid all shellfish and cauliflower.
Eating cherries is good, have you tried drinking 100% cherry juice? Drink a bunch of water, I mean a bunch, it will help flush out the uric acid.
Once your gout bout has subsided, pay extra attention to your fluid intake. With my husband we've noticed if he's traveling and doing a lot of sitting he'll get gout or if he's outside working a lot and sweating he'll get gout. To avoid getting gout in these situations, he'll drink double the water and this helps a lot.
Good luck!
