i have gout. it's not curable. there are medications to treat it and you can also treat it with cherries. i personally find the cherries to be more affective than the medication and don't have to deal with the side affects. eat twelve cherries several times a day until the symptoms diminish.
avoid the foods that are notorious for causing flare ups such as shellfish, beef etc. it is excruciatingly painful and quite crippling, especially if it attacks more than one joint.
you can use fresh, frozen or canned cherries or you can buy cherry concentrate at the health food store. i feel the fresh cherries work best.
