can gout attacks occure in the neck?severe pain in neck that becomes worse at night,and not responding to narcotics. it started about a month ago when a doctor stuck a needle in my chest numbing it for a cyst removal.he possibly hit a nerve and the pain was so sever that I tensed up with all my might and the pain in neck started next day.

most likely it is not gout........during your reaction to needle prick, you tensed up muscles along cervical spine, which could have misaligned a vertebrae.

Go see a chiropractor. Narcotics only cover symptoms.....they never treat the cause of pain.

HIGHLY unlikely gout- Please contact the Physician that did the procedure that you described. Ur problem is more than likely related to this. In the meantime, Try ICING the area- then place heat on the site- alternate this every 15 minutes. Try the sites below:
