So, of course i found out i'm not ovulating and was put on clomid from day 5-9. i was supposed to test on day 21 to see if i ovulated but it was a Saturday so i tested on Monday, which was day 23 and i just gout the result and i did ovulate, my question is how many days before the blood test does ovulation occur? and is it possible to detect ovulation if it occurs the same day as the test???? personal experience pleaseeeee i'm really frustrated...it's my first cycle and i'm so anxious!!!! i think i am late but test came up neg. the thing is with clomid i'm not sure .....
Thank you and baby dust to all of us!
i know clomid does not affect my test results, i meant that clomid may cause a later than usual ovulation and there for make me think i'm late.....but i have to thank you your answer has helped me a lot....good luck to you !!! i hope we both get the positive this month!!!!!
open for opinions
i just finished my first round of clomid too and current 11dpo so im waiting to test in 4 days =]
you need to know that clomid doesnt affect your pregnancy result.. and the doctors give us the day 21 blood test to confirm that the dose of clomid worked (i was put on 50mg but some women need a stronger dose) thats the purpose of the day 21 blood.. to simply confirm that you did ovulate that cycle. its up to you to track your ovulation.. i used bbt method because clomid minimizes your natural cm..so tracking ovulation by cm is not accurate while on clomid. since you really have no clue when you ovulated.. except that it was some time before your blood test. the blood test was to measure progesterone levels.. after ovulation, progesterone increases to a certain amount (and that how they confirm you ovulated) i dont think you ovulated the day you took the test because the day of ovulation is when there is a dip in progesterone, and then only after you finished ovulating does the progesterone level increases. im not a doc.. but i have been ttc for a while and did my research thoroughly =]
what i suggest is count about 14 days after that day you went in for the test, because even though every woman's cycle is different, almost everyone will get period 14 days after ovulation. keep in mind that you may get period a couple days sooner than the date you counted because you didnt really ovulate that day (day 23 you said?) that is the best way you can get a time frame if you are late or not.. if period doesnt come... test again.. if its neg.. test in a week from there.. if still neg and no period.. call doc and maybe get blood test, then go from there. GOOD LUCK!!
