is it possible to have gout at 13?

is it possible to have gout at 13?im 13 and for a week or two, i've been having bad pain in the base of my big toe on my left foot. i looked on a website and it said that it usually only occurs in men over 40. i havent had anything diagnosed yet. i am about 25-35 pounds overweight which is a cause. so getting back to my question, is it possible that i have it?
just so you know, i have not had trauma with that toe

Could be gout or inflammation. Maybe an injury or sprain (or hairline fracture). Check that out with a certified medical professional.

Your reseach is correct. Gout normally occurs in males over 40 years of age but more recently there has been a spike in cases for women and children too.

Gout is the result of a build up of uric acid which then converts into needle like crystals and accumulate in the joints with the big tore being the most common area.

The pain can be absolutely debilitating and without treatment can last for up to weeks at a time.

Being a little overweight can contribute and eating foods high in purines seems to be the main contributor.

It's hard to say whether you have gout or not, but a quick trip to the doctor can determine the cause of the pain. A simple blood test can measure the uric acid levels and your doctor can diagnose from there.

Good Luck
