I had a flare up of gout and it lasted about a week. I was out at the sea at the time and it took most of that time to get to a doctor. He treated me symptomatically and advised be to lay off the red meat. That happended ovre 8 years ago and I have never had a reoccurance.

Yep, gout is curable. Gotta do 2 things: help the body get rid of uric acid, and help the body to not produce so much uric acid.

To help the body get rid of uric acid, I drink alot of water, 1 oz for every 2 lbs of body weight daily. I also mix 1/2 tsp in 8 oz of water and try to do that once or twice a day. This helps the body be more alkaline and thus get rid of more uric acid. I also take allopurinol, it's inexpensive and has no side effects (for me anyway).

To help the body not produce so much UA, I take a celery seed pill 3 times a day. According to www.best-remedies-gout.com, this might help the liver to not produce so much uric acid. Take a look at that website, it's the best I've seen so far.

Gout like arthritis is not curable. Gout is a form or arthritis, a type of arthritis and it is not curable.

Is Drinking Vinegar Good For You?

Follow this link to read the article: healthybodyliving.com I've heard the question "Is drinking vinegar good for you" many times in my life. The short answer is yes, which I'm sure you already know, is not a sufficient answer. What does drinking vinegar do for you? Helps cure: * Acne * Allergies * Arthritis * Asthma * Diarrhea * Dizziness * Gas * Gout * High blood pressure * High cholesterol * Obesity(Of course many other things factor into losing weight besides just vinegar, sorry no easy easy out of that one) How much vinegar is the right amount to drink? Two table spoons is the ticket that you want. Though it might not be in your best interest to drink two straight table spoons of vinegar since it is very high in acid, instead use about a quart of water to dilute the vinegar. The diluted vinegar/water mix will have a lower chance of hurting your stomach, with that said, don't over do it, drinking a lot of vinegar at one time will hurt your stomach due to the acid. Drinking it is not the only way to get your vinegar for the day either, you can eat it on your favorite foods too.
