If shellfish is a no no for gout, can I still consume Omega 3 fish oil tablets?I was diagnosed with gout and meat and shell fish where two of the top foods doctor told me to avoid. I have taken Omega 3 for years plus other supplements. Its the weekend and cannot talk to doctor until Tuesday. Does anyone know about this issue?

It's OK to take Omega 3 fish oil if you have gout. It's actually beneficial, as it reduces inflammation from gout.
Beating gout is all about lowering your uric acid. Alcohol, meat, shellfish and dehydration raise uric acid levels.
I have gout, test my uric acid level frequently, and take fish oil daily. Omega 3 fish oil does not raise my uric acid level.
