Could my son possibly have a kidney stone or something else?My son is 16 yo and is having pain when he goes to the bathroom. He is also having some pain in his stomach(possibly bladder area) and he said his back hurt a while ago. He has an appointment on Friday and is taking some medication right now that turns his urine blue until then. I have had a history of stones myself and have had gout since I was 16 in my big toe. His father had a stone a few months ago .Could he possibly have a stone? He swears it's not an STD.....I made sure I brought it up. I wasn't 100% sure how hereditary kidney stones were. Or could it just be a urinary tract infection? And yes, he is already going to the Dr. to be 100% sure. I was just curious what others thought it could be.

Yes, he could have a stone. My friend had a stone when she was 26 and then her son had one when he was 16, so, if it runs in the family, there is a good chance that is what he has.
