Any one here ever get the GOUT?How long does it last. What do u do about it. and does it constatnly keep coming back? Thanks in advance!

Bernie R Yes, I had the gout in my big toe years ago. You go to a doctor and he/she will give you pills or shots to get rid of it otherwise, you could have it for a very long time. It comes about by having an excess of uric acid in your body from eating things like turkey meat. I had it at a young age, but I understand it can come back when your in your 60's,70's. Very painful. Good Luck!
peyty's mom acute episode of gout lasts about 4-7 days they usually give indocin or another strong anti inflammatory it is caused by the bodys inability to break down uric acid and so these sharp uric acid crystals store in your joints and begin to rub together causing inflammation it is very painful i get it about 4 times a year because i dont want to take the medication you take everyday to avoid it (allopurinol) it has alot of side effects ps.. Never use heat on a joint with gout only ice i learned the hard way good luck!!
