What is best treatment for osteoarthritis in lower back and thumbs and increasing body aches and pains?I am 45 and was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my thumbs and lower back a few years ago. Despite daily stretching, light exercise, splints for my thumbs, eating well, being well hydrated and taking ~4 vicodin per day (pain is intolerable without), pain level has continued to increase and now is in almost all joints and muscle tissue in my body; I also have occasional gout. I am wondering if I should also take anti-inflammatories regularly or anything else that might help aside from stronger pain medicine.

You can talk to your doctors about steroid injections for your back. There are usually good results for sometimes over a year with either the steroid injection or a different injection to essentially burn the nerves in the back (they grow back in about 18 months, its called radiofrequency neurotomy).

It won't stop the progression, but it may relieve some of the pain for a time.

Otherwise, acupuncture also does well for some people or chiropractic treatments.

You may start to use Chhu Manter herbal pain oil + Chhu Manter Tabs (homoeopathic)

Excellent products..
