Question about my dad? (details inside)?

Question about my dad? (details inside)? My dad is 71. I'm only 15. He has Congestive Heart Failure, COPD, chronic gout and a bunch of other stuff. The doctors have him on tons of medications. Hes had all this for about 7-8 years.

Well today i woke up at 4:30 pm because my sleep schedule is messed up lol. My dad was sleeping, he finally got up at 8 pm and ate.

Hes just acting weird. He keeps coughing but nothing isnt coming up, you can hear the phlem in his throat or whatever. But hes yawning and i dont hear him wheeze or nothing. I'm just worried (maybe it could just be me.)

I'm scared to ask him hes feeling okay.

Could he just be tired? Could meds be making him feel this way?
hahaha thanks everyone i found out that its his gout medication he takes making him tired. I forgot about that cuz i remember he always gets tired when he takes it and he said he took it today.

I would just ask him how he is feeling because there are so many different things that could be happening. It most definitely could be the medications or him being tired, or a combination of both. Surely your dad won't mind that you are concerned enough about him to ask him how he is feeling.

Could be as simple as a little chest cold. Just talk to him.

Okay, there are 2 things happening here. First, the cough that is associated with CHF is a wet cough, if the lungs are full of fluid then the phlegm will be white/pink tinged and kinda fluffy.
CHF will make someone tired.

Second issue, honesty is ALWAYS better than worry or fear. Don't be afraid to ask your dad how he is doing.

All the best,
Angie

First off, sorry to hear about your father and the condition he is in. If you feel concern then maybe you should share it with him. Search on webmd.com for things that might help. See if a humidifier would help with his phlem. You can also see on the website any side effects that might occur from the medication that he takes.
