Impossible Diagnosis?Okay, it sounds silly, but my big toe on my left foot has been hurting for about 3 months now. Someone suggested that it might be gout, but I doubt this for several reasons. First, I think I'm too young to have arthritis (I'm still under 20). Secondly, I haven't had any swelling, heat, or bruising.... So, any thoughts?

Sometimes problems occur earlier in life. If it is a big issue with you to live with pain in your toe, go and see a doctor. The earlier you see the doctor the better chance they have of helping you. I know this because my fiancee was diagnosed with severe osteoarthritis at 29 (it has advanced to that of an 80 year old). Don't ignore the pain, go see the doctor because it could be gout or something as fixable as a broken toe.
