I have a pain in my left heel ...I didn't injure it.?What could cause this? Some one said it might be gout? What is that?

It's probably tiny stress fractures. You usually get it from running.

Gout is an inflammation, but it wouldn't start in your heel; most likely you'd first feel it in the joint of your big toe.

Do you snowboard? I once got an injury from snowboarding that I didn't notice right away, but it had to do with how I angled my body off of that foot - the pain was like a stabbing sensation in my heel. I guess you could get it from other activities than snowboarding (e.g.: ice skating, whatever).

Gout is an arthritic disease (arthritis meaning inflammation of a joint) that is caused uric acid crystals. The dr will check for this by looking at one's urine. Both men and women can get this disease and it will start in the big toe.

I would recommend getting in touch with your dr to see what they think it could be.

Gout normally hits the big toe. What you have sounds like it might be a heel spur.

Gout is in your toes, that's not your problem. If sounds like you may have a problem with your plantar facia. Best to see a doctor and get a recommendation to go see a physical therapist. It will clear up the pain. If someone suggests surgery, run from that doctor as fast as you can.
