Ro-patsa (Beef and Potato Stew with Dried Shrimp) Recipe - Cuisine of Madagascar







[Instructions en francais ci-dessous] Ingredients: 1 lb beef, 1 large potato, 1/2 onion, 1/2 can diced tomato, 1 T oil, 1 1/2 t salt, 2 T dried shrimps, 3+ C water. Fry onions and tomatoes in oil to make a sauce. Add beef, salt, shrimps and water; cover and simmer until tender. Add potato and more water to cover; simmer until potatoes are cooked. Serve hot over rice. Ingredients: 500g viande, 1 grosse pomme de terre ou deux moyens, 1/2 gros oignon, 1/2 boite de tomates concasses, 1 cas huile, 1 1/2 cac sel, 2 cas chevaquine (petites crevettes sechees), ~ 750 ml eau. Faites frire l'oignon et les tomates dans l'huile pour en faire une sauce. Ajoutez la viande, le sel, le chivaquine et l'eau; mettez le couvercle et laissez mijoter jusqu'a ce que la viande soit bien tendre. Ajoutez la pomme de terre et plus d'eau pour la recouvrir si besoin (voire plus d'eau selon le gout de chacun). Laissez mijoter afin de cuire les pommes de terre; servez avec du riz.
