gout or ingrown toenail?

gout or ingrown toenail?i'm experiencing a really sharp pain on the inner bottom corner of my toenail area.,Its my left big toe. at first i thought it was an ingrown toenail. but my nails are pretty long, past the skin. and its in the inner bottom corner hurting, not near the top (if that makes any sense). but then i read something about gout. while reading about it i realized ever since i can remember i've been suffing from mini outbreaks of arthritis like pain in my ring finger and elbows - which i am now discovering to be gout. i have experienced this pain in my toe once a long time ago when i was in high school but at the time thought it was an ingrown nail. so my question is, is what i am experiencing gout or an ingrown toenail? thanks.

Gout is usually first noticed in your big toe. The pain feels like someone has cut up a needle in to little pieces and put them in your toe joint. It is very painful and the joint looks red and swollen.

Ingrown toenails are red around the nail.

Why don't you look up " toe gout " in Google Images and then have a look at "ingrown toenail" and compare them with your toe. Then go to your doctor.
