Gout and Protein?

Gout and Protein?My father has been suffering on-and-off with attacks of gout lately. He has been to the doctor and has been given medication, but nothing seems to help. A friend of his mentioned that he should eat very little meat, and only chicken once in awhile when he does. I was wondering if chicken really does have less protein than a piece of beef or pork? Does chicken have more protein than turkey? Fish?

He wants to eat low-protein, but not completely eliminate meats in his diet. Can anybody tell me which meats have the least protein in them? Help is greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

Tell him to leave shellfish and pork completely alone and eat all the other types of meat he wants.
I have gout and that diet works for me, I get an attack everytime I eat pork.

Apple cider vinegar is a very good gout natural remedy, here what you do, buy Braggs or any organic Apple cider vinegar
mix one or one and a half cap full with 8 oz of green tea, or
orange juice, cherry juice, mix well and drink, it does not taste that good, but let me tell you it's works for me, do this 2 to 3 times a day,,, it works

There are several things you can do as part of an eating plan for gout.

1. Avoid or limit foods that are very high in purines, especially during a gout attack. These foods include:
* Organ meats, such as liver, kidneys, sweetbreads, and brains.
* Meats, including bacon, beef, pork, and lamb.
* Game meats.
* Any other meats in large amounts.
* Anchovies, sardines, herring, mackerel, and scallops.
* Gravy.
* Legumes, such as dried beans and dried peas.
* Beer.
2. Eat foods that may lower your risk of gout.1, 2 These include:
* Low-fat or skim milk.
* Low-fat yogurt.
* Tofu.
3. Choose healthy foods. These foods include:
* A wide range of fruits and vegetables.
* Eggs, beans, nuts, and seeds for protein.
* Small amounts of meat. Limit your serving size to 2 to 3 ounces.
4. Drink plenty of water and other fluids. This can help your body get rid of uric acid.
5. Avoid eating habits that can raise your uric acid levels. For example:
