enough for a colchicine overdose?

enough for a colchicine overdose?my mom told me today that she felt a gout attack coming on...so over the weekend she took a "heavy dose of my medicine", before finding out how much i mentioned that it is an easy med to od on and to be careful..she mentioned then that she felt weak afterward...turns out she took at least 11 .6 mg tabs of colchicine in about three days. i want her to go to the emergency room, but she insists she is fine. am i over reacting?
btw, i am 28 years old, and older doesn't equate to more knowledgeable.

SZO
For acute gouty arthritis, a patient may take an initial dose of 1.2 mg equivalent, then 1-2 unit of cochicine tablet/granule every hour/2 hours until pain is relieved or until diarrhea ensues.

If that's what your mom collectively took in 3 days, she'll be fine---just watch for early signs of toxicity like nausea, vomiting & diarrhea.

But as for the weakness she is experiencing, you might want to convince her to go to the ER just to be sure.
