Any guess on what I might have? Bulging disc? Snapping hip syndrome? Cursed? :)?

Any guess on what I might have? Bulging disc? Snapping hip syndrome? Cursed? :)?My left hip hurts all the time and the pain runs down my leg. The pain is so bad that I feel like literally cutting off my leg so I don't have to feel the pain in those little nerve endings. Almost every morning, my left hip makes a little popping noise when I get up and pain shoots down my leg. I can't sleep on my back most nights, it's just too painful and keeps me awake. Sitting down is a trial and when I do end up sitting for a couple minutes and standing up again, my leg gets that dead leg, tingling sensation, you know, when blood circulation is cut off and comes rushing back. No idea what I have, too many diagnoses out there and the last time I went to the doctor, over a year ago, he wasn't very helpful in treating me. Kept trying to get me to take gout medication when I know I didn't have gout (cause my sister-in-law's dad has gout so I know what symptoms comes with the development of gout).

There are any number of things that can cause symptoms but you need to see a doctor for a diagnosis. Either go back to the same doctor or see a new one. You probably need x-rays or scans but that can only be determined after a history and exam. I've found you have to be persistent to get help for a lot of conditions that don't just jump in their faces - but I can tell you my doctor said snapping/popping of joints usually indicates arthritis - but you could have this in combination with other conditions...and you won't know unless you see a doctor and get worked up.

Find a better doctor!!! I would recommend seeing either a general orthopedic surgeon or a neurologist. Make sure they are Board Certified. If you have a primary care, ask them to give you some names. They are in the business of finding out which specialists are the best. Otherwise, subscribe to something like Angie's List which allows people to rate doctors to find someone with a good patient rating. Ask around in your area. It is not impossible to find a good doc.

Btw, a bulging disk is unlikely to mimic pain like snapping hip syndrome. Snapping hip syndrome usually occurs on the front surface of the hip (groin pain) or on the outside bony area; bulging disk pain clearly occurs in the low back and usually refers down the back of the leg.
