What is this intense pain in my ankle - read the whole question before answering.?>OK, I have to ask this for the third time because people don't seem to be reading the whole question. It's not gout and it's not heel spurs. The pain is in the TOP of the ankle.<
I'm a 49 year old male and I suddenly and periodically get an intense stabbing pain, without warning, in my left ankle. It lasts less than a minute and it happens maybe 3 to 5 times a day. It's as if I have a demented dwarf following me around and plunging an ice pick into the top of my ankle when I least expect it. It seems to make no difference if I am sitting or standing. It's very painful, I can't help but yell. &^#%^^@!!! Otherwise I'm in excellent shape.
