What is the cause of this foot pain?

What is the cause of this foot pain?She said she woke up with this pain in her foot. It's not a pounding pain, its just a pain as if someone fell on it. She went to the E.R. yesterday, after dealing with it for a week. The doctor said they believe its tendinitis, or something else that rhymes with that but I forgot. Please just help her, I don't like to see her in pain. The link below is a picture of a foot, it shows where the pain is located. Could you possibly know what the cause of her pain is. It's not gout! They tested her for that, and her white blood cells count is fine.

She might have trigger points in her foot or calf muscles. Check out this website and look for her pain pattern.
