Swollen and very painful feet and hand especially at night!!!!?Hi folks.My mum is 57 years old and weighs 64 kg.Her heels and complete foot to be more precise at the back of her feet are both swollen and she can feel a burning sensation.Her hands too become swollen and painful.
Is it gout,diabetes or something else?
Please if you have ever come across such an illness and have find cures,let me know.Many thanks.

Yes, it's called Edema. Your mother is holding fluid (water) in her body. She needs to be seen by a doc now. He needs to prescribe medications that can help get rid of the fluid. She also may need to wear compression stockings to help with the swollen feet. Also have your mom sit with her feet elevated above her heart. (like in a recliner)

if she has arthritis it is gout! This is a very painful condition
and she should check in with her doctor. She will need medication, usually a low dose of steroids, to clear this up.
It will go away on it's own but it's disabling to allow it to continue.

Diabetes also has the symptoms which you describe, as does a B12 deficiency. Tell Mum, to go and see her doctor, professional advice is always the best.
