My Fiancee's toes have been hurting her a bit- is this caused by gout?

My Fiancee's toes have been hurting her a bit- is this caused by gout?I don't think that she externally hurt her toes, so it sounds like the pangs were coming from the inside of her toes.

Could this be a symptom of gout? Or what else might the problem be?
