if dangerous or safe do you have any links?
january, you have a lot of nerve assuming I have a bad diet. I have been into natural foods and shopping health food stores over 30 years and eat over 50% of my diet in produce. I have been a teetotaler for over 40 years. I eat way more raw veggies than the average person. My allopathetic doctor who is extremely into alternative health has all of her (very health conscious) patients keep a one month journal of their diets and told me I had the best diet of any of her patients. I do not eat much red meat eating vegetarian and often vegan every other day approximately. You should not make assumptions that I have poor diet and self care as you stated it, I would stack my diet against yours anyday. Although many people think this is the main cause, research will show there are other reasons for gout in some people. I eat very little processed and junk foods. I did notice, however, when I was recently in a wreck and bleeding internally (thus making my iron go down dangerously low) that my
gout stayed away for several weeks despite a decline in my nutrition as I temporarily reverted to frozen foods as too ill too cook due to many injuries and no one to help me cook. I wonder if it is excess iron (something found in red meats) that is instrumental..just a thought. I will try to up the garlic and cabbage though. But the tone of your answer greatly irritated me. I have studied nutrition for over 330 years intently and everyone who knows me knows I have an unusual amount of knowledge on the topic of alternative health/diet..just look though my past answers in that section on here. sheesh
that should read 30 years not 330 years.

Absolutely NOT!!Combine some baking soda and a bit of vinegar (in a jar, plate. . .) ~ what you see is what happens in your stomach. Gout is a painful symptom of uric acid imbalance(too much) for your kidneys&liver to process; the excess uric acid gravitates to your joints(ankles, knees ~ extremeties)Primary causes: alcohol abuse & excess consumption of red meat,to name a few, all indicators of poor diet & self-care. Genetics are to be seriously considered! It's a Ph thing: and your body is screaming for more greens, onions, carrots & raw veggies. Look into uric acid & what produces it and you will be well. Cabbage & garlic will clean your blood like magic ~ stay away from processed junk food! You are what you eat!!Your kidneys are trying to tell you something; they WILL fail if you fail them.Own your body & listen to it.

you might want to just try the baking soda as it is also helpful for gout alone. Other things that might help are cherries and their juice (sour), blueberries, butcher's broom, horsetail, and turmeric (natural anti-inflammatory. I am sorry I am not sure about mixing the vinegar and baking soda..I think it you wait a few minutes, the foaming effect will die die.
Orignal From: is it safe to drink baking soda (1/4 tsp) and vinegar..I have read this helps gout..but it seems 2B upsetting?
