I was given apo-indomethacin to treat pain from gout, and now I have a big headache/diahrrea?The pain coming from the side effects seem to be harsher than the gout pain itself. I couldn't sleep all night because of the headache/stomach pains that this drug has given me.

Is this supposed to be normal? Also, I am only 18 and I already have an old man's condition like gout. Does this mean I am extremely unhealthy?

Though headaches and diarrhea are side effects; apo- indomethacin is not the only drug to treat Gout. You may ask your physician for a substitute. And, gout is mostly caused by excessive intake of meat, which contains cells and the cells contain nucleus. It is protein of the nucleus that is not properly processed or excreted through kidneys. Therefore, it would not be true to say that gout is the disease of an old man or debilitating person. And, hopefully, it is not the disease that is un- curable, if care of diet is exercised i.e taking foods that contain nucleic acids.
