You really shouldn't mess around with gout as it can put you in the hospital. Get thee to a doctor posthaste.

Are you on high blood pressure meds? If yes, then you need to have them adjusted..
My dad gets it, but not as bad as before they adjusted his meds.
Stay away from rich foods, that's the big one, and if you see a physician they will give you pain meds and an rx that will help to break up the uric acid in your system.
The only thing really to prevent reoccurence is your diet..or a change in meds if you take them.
Eat alot of fruit and leafy greens and take a multi-vitamin.
Good luck with that I know it's really painful.
Hope you can get it under control.

I suggest all natural Alfalfa Complex. Reaching as deep as 20 feet into the soil, the roots of the alfalfa plant brings forth minerals in their most natural form. Recognized for centuries for its healing properties, alfalfa offers a wide range of nutrients: calcium, phosphorus, iron, magnesium, chlorophyll, bioflavonoids, trace minerals, and vitamins. It also produces positive alkaline reaction in the blood.

Hope this is helpful and feel free to contact me with questions.

First, you need to be diagnosed with gouty arthritis. Self-diagnoses don't count. You haven't mentioned specific symptoms so I have no way to know if you really do have gout symptoms. See your doctor, get a diagnosis and, if you do indeed have gouty arthritis, your doctor will put you on an anti-gout med, such as allopurinol or colchicine, prescribe an analgesic and will recommend a diet low in prurines. You may actually another form of arthritis which would be treated differently.

I have gout and you have my deepest sympathy. The first thing that you need to do, is go to a doctor. He will recommend drinking lots of water, watch your diet, stay away from certain types if sea food. We will probably give you prescriptions for your gout, Allopurinol and Colchicine. Colchicine has been used since the Roman times and it is a nasty little pill. It has a tendency to make you sick and give you a slight case of diarhea
One of the folk remedies is to drink lots of cherry juice and believe it or not it really does help. Lots of luck.
